The two layouts below are for two ScrapGirls monthly contests - the first is to scrap a new beginning, and the second to to scrap a favorite moment from 2008.

Winter in Florida

Two of the sites I frequent - Feeling Scrappy and Sisterhood of Scrap - have challenges this week that focus on winter/ice/cold things. Since I live in Florida, ice cream is about the coldest thing we have in the winter! Here's a fun layout that uses the Happy Place kit by Sarah Jones and Atomic Cupcake's acrylic action.

Friday Fun

Sisterhood of Scrap posted the following random questions yesterday - here are my answers!
1. What color are your socks you have on now? No socks - hey! I live in Florida!
2. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone? A work colleague
3. What did you have for lunch today? Haven't eaten yet but I have a Lean Cuisine pizza in the freezer!
4. Name someone you admire. My dad
5. How many cars have you owned? 7 (including my husband's cars)
6. How many homes have you lived in? 8
7. Are you left-handed or right-handed? Right
8. Do you wear shoes around the house? No way!
9. What was the last thing you took a photo of? My daughter
10. Do you like hot chocolate? Yum!

In a creative frenzy

I got a lot of scrapping stuff done today - even some things on paper! First, a digital layout - Alexa loves to play with her dolls, and I bought this digi kit (Girls and Dolls by Heather Roselli) just for these photos. The layout template is by Jen Caputo:
I'm taking the "From Mess to Success" class at Feeling Scrappy - I am mentally organized but am known for shoving things in folders and forgetting about them. I'm hoping that having one place to keep everything will help! These photos are of completed assignments 1 and 2 - a binder and dividers. I'm using Crate Paper's Blue Hill collection and matching Bazzill for all the class projects.

Finally, here's my blessing this week!

Busy Saturday!

After Alexa's dance class, we pretty much hung out all day watching the Duke game and movies. Although the house is a disaster, I got a lot of scrapping done! Here are some layouts I did today - credits under each photo:

Completed for yesterday's Digi Chick color challenge (greens) - credits: background paper and white flowers from the Thankful kit by Sarah Jones, and I lifted the other text colors from other papers in the kit. Other credits:

Another Digi Chick challenge - this is a blind scraplift challenge and is the Anything Goes challenge from last week Saturday. Credits: Eva Kipler for the paper and the majority of the elements; paint drips from a template by Brandy Hackman; background frame from a template by Erica Hite

This layout is for last week's Becky Higgins sketch challenge on Scrapshare - credits: sketch by Becky Higgins (duh); background paper and tabs by Amanda McGee; ribbon template and knotted ribbon actions by Christine Smith; ornament brush by Patricia Yochum; silver action by Atomic Cupcake; paper texture by Ariadna Wiczling

A few holiday book layouts

Although I do a lot of themed mini-albums, the only full sized theme album I have is our holiday album. Every year I do 3-4 layouts of the holidays, and I think it will be a ton of fun to look at the album and see how our family has changed over the years. Here are all but one of the layouts from this year (because I'm still working on it!!):

Credits: sketch by C. Couch; papers by Cinnamon Designs; fibers from a template by Durin Eberhart; "joy" element by Keri Schueller; edged plastic action by Atomic Cupcake; paper textures by Ariadna Wiczling

Credits: sketch by Becky Fleck; santa and tree elements by Marnie Adams; inked edge action and sparkle action by Atomic Cupcake; paper tearing action by Melissa Renfro; fancy glitter brush by Amanda Sok; paper templates by Angie Briggs, Ursula Schneider and Syndee Nuckles

Credits: sketch by Becky Higgins; papers and elements from the Family Tree kit by P. Spring; stitches from a template by Mandy Steward; stitches and holes layer style by Cheryl Barber; paper texture by Ariadna Wiczling

Another blessing

It's time for another blessing! The photo of this layout is very weirdly colored/contrasted, and fixing it has defied my considerable Photoshop skills. I think it's just a crappy picture! The layout is based on a sketch by Deanne Burton and the quote by John Lubbock on the LHS says, "A room without books is as a body without a soul."

Too many toys....

Here's a fun layout I did with the toy chaos in the background!

Who accomplishes resolutions, anyway?

I am not making any New Year's resolutions this year and I am not doing the 365 challenge that every photographer and scrapbooker out there seems to be trying - one photo every day is just too much for me. Trying to do it in December 2008 taught me that!

I AM doing a "52 Blessings" mini-album. Each week, I will scrap a 6x6 layout of one of my blessings....here's the first! I am going to use this paper line (Black Market Paper Society's Lucky 'n Love) throughout and the layouts will be generally simple since they're small.

Grandpa Jack

Adam's Grandpa Jack celebrated his 90th birthday on 12/29 and the family gathered together to celebrate in Orlando on the 27th. He is a kind, generous, ambitious, successful, loving and MUCH LOVED man. It was wonderful to be there to share the love!

Days of December

Well, I had the best of intentions - I was going to do a Days of December mini-album. After completing several other minis in early December, I lost my steam. I decided to do a layout instead of a mini-album - here it is!
