Creative Explosion!

As I mentioned in my last post, I'm so behind on layout and project sharing! I've been creatively busy - too busy to write about it. There's something about fall that makes me feel homey - I like to cook and bake and decorate even more than at other times of year, so that's keeping me busy, too. But here's a taste of what I've been up to.

1. Photoless layouts. Sometimes I want to tell a story or say something but just don't have a photo to go with it...and I find these layouts to be a ton of fun, mostly because I don't have to remember to keep the design of the layout focused on a photo. Here are two I've done recently:

2. "Event" layouts. Here are a couple of our recent afternoon trip to Paulus Farm.

And here's one I did as part of a challenge at Ninth & Bloom. I'm especially proud of this layout because it took me HOURS to get the shadows on the intertwined ribbons right, and I normally don't have the patience for that kind of detail.

3. Altered items. I had SO MUCH FUN altering these clothespins with paint, rub-ons, ribbon, buttons and flowers. They're perfect to hold photos and notes.


4. "Moment" layouts that I do "just because."

I finished some UFOs!!

As part of Jessica Sprague's Digi:In Deep class, she challenged us to set a scrapbooking-related goal and finish it during the 4 weeks of the class. My goal is to sort and catalog all the unfinished projects I have (UFOs=unfinished objects) and decide if I am going to complete them or not. If not, I need to RAK the supplies out ot someone who will use them. I also wanted to finish at least 3 UFOs during the class.

I spent some time this week getting everything sorted and I have a few things ready to RAK out. I also finished some things - here they are!

It feels great to have these done, and I have a couple more things I want to finish!

In a creative frenzy

I got a lot of scrapping stuff done today - even some things on paper! First, a digital layout - Alexa loves to play with her dolls, and I bought this digi kit (Girls and Dolls by Heather Roselli) just for these photos. The layout template is by Jen Caputo:
I'm taking the "From Mess to Success" class at Feeling Scrappy - I am mentally organized but am known for shoving things in folders and forgetting about them. I'm hoping that having one place to keep everything will help! These photos are of completed assignments 1 and 2 - a binder and dividers. I'm using Crate Paper's Blue Hill collection and matching Bazzill for all the class projects.

Finally, here's my blessing this week!

Back to some paper!!

I have spent some time over the last few days with my paper and "real" embellishments. In some ways, I miss it, but it is SO frustrating when I can't find exactly the right shade of paper, or when I have the perfect embellishment but it's the wrong size. AAAAHHHHHHH!!! I did manage to do a DPS layout for my Book of Me, and another DPS layout for our family album and as my entry for a Scrapshare sketch challenge. I have 3 more paper layouts sketched out in my head and hopefully I'll get to those this week.

I had a lot of fun altering this Frappuccino four pack for my daughter's preschool teacher for Valentine's Day.
